On September 27, 2023, Anita Boyle received a Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in recognition of her hard work and dedication to the Preeceville SARCAN Depot over the past 35 years.
Prior to the Queen's passing, approval was given for the creation of a commemorative medal in honour of the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty's accession to the throne as Queen of Canada. This medal was awarded to 7,000 residents of Saskatchewan who have made a significant contribution to Canada, Saskatchewan, their communities, or fellow citizens.
In 1988, Sarcan opened in the back of the Mackenzie Training Centre. In 2014, Sarcan moved to its new location just off of Main Street, Preeceville to better serve the community.
Sarcan is open Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 4:30 pm to accept your recyclables. A Drop-and-Go kiosk is also available in the front customer area for anyone wishing to skip the line at the counter.
Items accepted at the Preeceville Sarcan Depot include beverage containers, end-of-life electronics including computers and accessories, tablets, telephones, TVs, DVD and VHS players, cameras, household paint, and dry-cell batteries (rechargeable and single use) under 5 kg. Batteries weighing over 5 kg are not accepted.
